If you have ever waited 10 minutes for 2Mb file to be downloaded, this article is for you.
If you have ever prepared your coffee while you are waiting for your mailbox to open so can you read that mail your beloved sent you, then you are using a dial up and you are primitive and this article is definitely for you.

Today we discuss WiMaxxxx.............
Before I go along describing and explaining what WiMax is and why I am so very excited about it, I'd just like to say that this is one subject that has kept me engrossed since the day I learned about it. Its is a technology which unfortunately still elusive to the Indian Masses but hopefully not for long. And its not just yet another thing for the geeks, it is what I consider to be the next big thing in the Indian computing world.

It would be as big as internet or lets just say it would speed up the Internet itself.

iPhone vs BlackBerry

BlackBerry as you know is a hand held device which is used mostly by the corporate people. It is a very popular device amongst the India Inc. as it helps them stay in touch with their mail box 24/7.

Now those of you who do not know about BlackBerry, obviously do not watch or read news. As recently BlackBerry was in news over a spat with government.

For newbies here's a little insight about BlackBerry.

BlackBerry is a hand held device whose sole purpose is to forward your e-mails from your respective e-mails to your mobile.

It works on the Push Mail Technology which in layman talk means that it automatically sends a copy of your e-mail onto your BlackBerry device. That means you no longer have to sign on to your e-mail account to check your mails.

Since its launch, BlackBerry has been the favorite tool of businessmen big or small.
It is manufactured by a Canadian company Research In Motion(RIM) and since it came into existence RIM has had almost a monopoly in push mail technology.

Now as we know the new iPhone3g does have the capability to forward your mails into your hand. iPhone supports Push Mail technology.
Now the question is, can APPLE with their new invention, divulge the faith and loyalty of RIM customers.

Who has the advantage
RIM does have an advantage of sporting a QWERTY keyboard which is always nice as compared to writing on a shiny glass of iPhone on which typing can be a little difficult.
But that if you ask me is just getting used to problem.

iPhone on the other hand is now powered by advanced security which will call out to the I.T specialists in the organization.

Now one big plus point the iPhone has over BlackBerry is, that it supports music and video.

So whether RIM acknowledges it or not, the next few days will definitely require a little bit more thinking and re-planning if they want to counter Mr. Jobs's new toy.

I-Phone, The king of phones is finally here

After all the rumors, all the guessing and all the wishing, the Apple iPhone 3G is finally in India. The state of the art phone, which promises to revolutionize the mobile handset industry is finally available in the biggest mobile market in the world. So all you fellow Indians who are crazy about apple products, CONGRATULATIONS, the wait is finally over.

Now referring to iPhone as just a phone is like calling Cricket just a game in India.
The iPhone is powered by a 400Mhz processor, comes with 64 or 128MB of RAM with a storage capacity of 6-12 GB. Now these are almost the same configuration that you find in a MAC machine few years back.

Now the new iPhone 2.0 has improved tremendously over its previous version 1. The new one has all the features essential for a corporate users. It has remote wipe, push email, faster browsing with EDGE, automatic contact and calendar syncing making it may the new popular gadget for corporate users.
Vodafone and Airtel are launching iPhone in India and the price as quoted by Vodafone is
Rs 31,000 for the 8GB model and 36,000 for the 16GB model.
Now my first reaction after learning about the price was WHAT!

It seemed too high considering that its been sold for $199 in U.S, that's bout 8-9 grands.
But the point to be noted here is that the iPhone is sold for $199 with a 2 year contract with AT&T and there is a contract fee of $321 making it $520 in all.
And if i use the calculator on my laptop, that amounts to somewhere above Rs 22,000.
Makes you think now, doesn't it. But being a true Indian i still think its about a 10grands too much.
As stunning the iPhone is with all its cool features, the phone has enhanced security also.
The new iPhone has implemented security policy enforcement, certificate and indentities with WPA2/802.1X protocols.

Access to corporate networks of companies is also enabled through IPSec VPNs specially with push mail integrated with MS Exchange. And this brings us to very important topic and that is, would iPhone spell doom for BlackBerry??

Stay Tuned...
